Lions, Transformers and chainsaw costumes: Argentina’s unusual election

Reporting on Latin America’s strangest vote

With sky-high inflation and a volatile currency, this election is crucial for Argentina. Yet the first round yielded a surprise result. Its tactics included massive state handouts just before the ballot.

Our Latin America correspondent, Ana Lankes, reports from Buenos Aires.
